Background
The International Modern Physics Olympiad (IMPhO) is an advanced, globally oriented physics competition that focuses on the frontier topics of twentieth- and twenty-first-century physics—such as special and general relativity, quantum mechanics, particle physics, condensed-matter phenomena, and astrophysics. Aimed primarily at talented upper-secondary students, IMPhO challenges participants to demonstrate both rigorous theoretical insight and innovative experimental or computational problem-solving skills.
Objectives
IMPhO aspires to act as a catalyst for the next generation of physicists capable of tackling the 21st century’s most demanding scientific challenges. Specifically, the Olympiad seeks to:
